At a glance

What B2W Estimate does

B2W Estimate is aimed squarely at heavy contractors whose bids are built from crews, equipment, production rates, pay items, and indirect costs. Its central databases and templates help multiple estimators work from the same assumptions, while bid-closing tools handle markups, taxes, bond, overhead, and final unit pricing.

Trimble’s “mobile estimating” label can be misleading: it is a Windows laptop checkout-and-sync workflow for working away from the Estimate server, not a native mobile app. Buyers should also map needed controls to the Basic, Professional, and Enterprise edition matrix before pricing the system.

Trimble sells Basic, Professional, and Enterprise editions by quote. Mobile estimating is limited to Professional and Enterprise.

Before the demo

What stands out, and what to pin down

What stands out on paper

  • Purpose-built for production-driven heavy-civil estimates
  • Reusable cost structures improve consistency between estimators
  • Direct handoff to B2W Track and B2W Schedule

Questions for the vendor

  • This is a Windows estimating environment, not a phone or tablet takeoff app
  • Several controls—including mobile estimating and WBS levels—depend on edition
  • Cost databases and production assumptions need disciplined ownership

An integration name alone does not tell you which records move, in which direction, or how often. Ask to see the exact workflow you need using representative data.
